Party Information: How does it work on the day?
The Flour Cake Kitchen will...
- Need access to the venue about 30 mins beforehand to set up and same to clear away
- The Cupcake experience will last for approx 1.30 to 2 hours and be co-ordinated by one of our experienced cake decorators
- All the equipment, including aprons, wet wipes and a table, if necessary, will be provided. (chairs are not needed as many children find it easier to work standing up)
- Provide 5 pre-baked vanilla cupcakes for each child attending ( 1 to eat on the day)
- All sugar paste (fondant) and / or buttercream ready to pipe, sprinkles and decorative pieces
- A box for each child to take home 4 decorated cupcakes - no need for you to provide a party bag!
- Opportunity for you to take photographs of each child's completed cupcakes after the session (great for sending with thank you cards)
- All mess from the cupcake experience cleared away by us
- Provide the Birthday boy/girl with a 6”, 3 layer cake in buttercream coloured to match the party theme and ready for you to add your own cake toppers and candles.
You will need to ...
- Arrange and provide the venue - at home or community hall
- Provide and send out party invitations
- Provide additional party bags should you wish to do your own gifts
- Candles, cake topper(s) and lighter for the candles
- Party food if applicable
- Tea and coffee so you can relax and have chatter with friends whilst we keep the children entertained!
Please note, a parent must be present during the Cupcake experience.
Smash Cakes and Prices
Quite popular for babies and toddlers are early years Birthday ‘Smash Cake’ photo shoots. A brilliant and amusing way to capture your little one smashing into a beautifully soft buttercream cake. Their face will say it all! 😂
Whilst we do not arrange photo shoots directly, we are happy to make soft sponge smash cakes designed for this purpose. Why not create your own Smash Cake experience at home - a cake, a few props, a camera and of course your lovely little one!
Yes it gets messy but get your camera ready and watch as they smash and eat their way into the cake. A great way to have fun and capture memorable photos that say it all.
We wouldn't want to ruin you little ones clothes so cakes in lighter colour buttercream are recommended to prevent staining.
Prices quoted do not include cake decoration so you are free to choose your own to co-ordinate with your theme, alternatively we can do this for you at an additional cost.
Prices of Smash Cakes depend on the size of cake required, with the most popular choices being 6" or 8"
Price guide is for a 3 layer vanilla sponge cake, covered in buttercream (choice of colours available)

Parties for 5 - 8 years
Cupcakes themed for this age range are decorated with a soft fondant. All colours are pre-mixed and easy to use cutters are provided.
Our cake decorator will guide the children through decorating each of the 5 cupcakes to ensure that they can proudly carry a box of 4 home.
Prices
- £120 for up to 6 children + £20 per additional child
- Maximum group size per party is usually 8
- 1 parent per 4 children should be on hand to assist with younger children.
- Additional cost will apply for larger groups where more than one co-ordinator is required.
Parties for 9 -12 years
Cupcakes themed for this age range are decorated with either a soft fondant or delicious buttercream. All colours are pre-mixed and easy to use cutters and piping bags are provided.
Our cake decorator will guide the children through decorating each of the 5 cupcakes to ensure that they can proudly carry a box of four home.

- £120 up to 6 children + £20 per additional child
